Learn more about Manuela and how she manages her time. She also lends advice to other bloggers and college students.

What made you want to be a part of Pink Productions? Do you only blog for Pink productions, or do you have you own personal blog?

Initially, I was told by a professor about the Pink Productions recruiting event going on in Houston. I showed up with my resume, got interviewed, and was called back a few days later to became a part of the team. I loved that the mission is focused on women empowerment and bringing women together. I also loved that the platform is aimed to inspire diverse walks of life. I’ve always been a writer, and this gave me an opportunity to share my story. I have my own personal blog, I’m editor and chief for my school newspaper and I write for other outlets as well.

What made you decide to attend Houston Baptist University? What do you love the most about being in college?

I knew that I was going there after high school. My sisters went there, so it was kind of a “legacy” school for me. I love that it is a small campus. It gives you opportunities to form personal relationships with professors and other students. So far I love the independence of being in college and the different people I get to meet. People are just so interesting in the way they think, which paves ways to awesome intellectual conversations. I’ve made a lot of great friends and I hope to keep in touch outside of college.

How do you balance school, blogging and your everyday life?

To be honest, it can be quite challenging to balance school, blogging, and other things. But like anything else, good habits form with discipline. It’s all about finding the right time to write. I tend to find the most inspiration during the evening. I usually have a cup of tea and some music playing, while I write. Although I can get overwhelmed with the amount of things that I have to do I always manage to achieve the deadline successfully. It’s all about taking your time, feeling inspired, and putting forth your best work while still remaining authentic.

What advice would you give to other bloggers and college students?

Be yourself. Be authentic. Be creative. Write what you’re passionate about. If you’re given an outlet to channel your creativity, take advantage of the opportunity and do it. Surround yourself with people that inspire you and uplift you.

Be yourself. Be authentic. Be creative.

What are your plans after college, and what is in store for your blogging?

Well, I plan to attend law school and study international law. I would also love to complete an internship overseas; I think that would be a wonderful opportunity. I love to travel! As for blogging, I’ll always be writing. That is possibly one thing I know for sure will never change in my life!
