the talented DJ 4.0 Shares How she Discovered Her passion for Music.

We spoke with the talented DJ 4.0. She is a radio personality at iHeartMedia Kiss FM 103.1. DJ 4.0 definitely is a woman with ambition and determination that we had to speak to her. Check out 4.0. story below, she is absolutely making her statement in the male dominated industry of disc jockey!

How was your childhood?

My childhood was very fun and exciting. Being young and figuring out who I was  and who I wanted to be was the bomb! I was always the fun, outgoing child, who was always trying to rap or sing – this is how I knew I was going to be a DJ. My dad owned a record company when I was young and it really got me into the business of music.

I know you mentioned that you were always rapping or singing. At what age did you develop an interest in music?

I’ve always had an interest in the music industry. I was the kid who watched all the music videos and re-did the whole video. I was always the lead singer or rapper for every song. Music was my get away. I was always trying to see how I could make a song or the dance moves better. Music was my escape.

You’ve interned for a few radio stations, how were those experiences? Have you had the pleasure of working with anyone in the industry?

YES! I have interned at 97.9 The Beat Dallas, V103 ATL, Sirius XM D.C. and now currently working for iHeartMedia Kiss FM 103.1. I love working at iHeartMedia and I loved interning at all those radio stations. It has given me insight into the industry and ALOT of HUGE connections. I’ve got to work with Waka Flocka, Yazz, T.I. and plenty of artists.

What upcoming opportunities are you looking forward to? What do you have planned for the future?

Right now, I’m currently getting my masters in Professional Communications at Texas Southern University and I’m working for iHeartMedia where I’m a DJ and Personality for a top 40 station, Kiss FM 103.1. I plan on moving out of Texas and back to D.C. at the end of the year. I’m not sure what God has planned but I sure do know it will be great.

You also have your own show where you interview artists, how did you get into interviewing?

I feel like no one is actually in the streets recognizing the talent we have.

I started out interviewing young Houston moguls, artists and business owners because I feel like no one is actually in the streets recognizing the talent we have. I always get the vibe that unless you’re already famous no one cares. I want to share knowledge with the young generation. WE ARE THE PEOPLE! I also wanted to work on my interview skills because now-a-days you have to know how to do everything. I want to be the jack-of-all-trades.
