Native Houstonian, Author | Poet | Blogger | Traveler

I  loved being a wife and a mother to three energetic sons, but four years ago, I became a widow, and was shockingly left with the full responsibility of raising my boys to be men. I was born a writer.  I remember journaling as a young girl in my first locked diary and still today, I keep my thoughts, feelings, prayers and my goals in my journals. I am an author of two self-published books: “The Most Comforting Love of All” - A collaboration of poetry with my late husband and “The Love Experience” - a personal memoir about a love affair and traveling overseas. I launched my first blog called “The Poetry Journal” in March 2016 covering my traveling experiences and how to deal with insecurities in relationships. To commemorate my milestone birthday in July, I launched a new travel series called HAUTE50 Travel which covers boutique hotels, Air BnBs and hostels as an alternative way to travel economically. I earned my BS/BA and have worked in Business Administration for over 20 years for the largest African American Methodist church. Traveling inspires me to journal and encourage others to travel; but Love is my most interesting topic.
